Rurally Located Program – Morehead, KY
The University of Kentucky (Morehead) Rural Family Medicine Program is a community-based, free-standing, unopposed, ACGME accredited Family Medicine residency program based at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead, KY and institutionally sponsored by the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.
Unique Features
We received Osteopathic Recognition from the ACGME in 2018.
Using the rural apprenticeship model, our program aims to produce full spectrum family physicians with an emphasis placed on broad spectrum obstetrics and Osteopathic Principles & Practice.
Additional Information
The sense of community our residents experience during their time in Morehead has favorably affected post-graduate placement and retention of residents, with many returning to practice in underserved areas or staying in Morehead to grow our faculty. The University of Kentucky (Morehead) Rural Family Medicine Program has become one of the region’s premier resources for local talent and recruitment.
